A2013 not opening MDE

Hi all,
What could be the reason for A2013 not opening a mde file.
It opens the login and splash screens fine but fails when it has to open the main form.
It is tough to find the problem since it opens the mdb version fine all the way without any errors.

Both the mdb and mde version work 100% on other PCs only running A2003
Only the PC with A2013 giving this issue

Ahh - so I fixed the problem. I opened the mdb file in A2013 and did a compact and repair and then shipped it back to the PC with A2003 on it and did the same that side.
Afterwards I made a MDE file on the A2003 machine and shipped it back to the A2013 machine.
Now it works on the A2013 PC as well as on all the rest.
Must have been some version conflict.

PS: Earlier this month I took the plunge to eventually convert my 2003 app to 2013 but I had some issues at Clients still running old Office versions on their machines.
I really thought simply installing A2013RT on their machines would do the trick but it still gave problems. So I'm back at A2003 until I have enough time to try and figure out the version confliction issues up and down the version line
