I have developed a program in Access 2002 (with lots of great help and advice from you folks! thank you!) with forms to perform audits on physician's offices. I have to walk around the office/clinic and check of 150 or so items and would like to do this on a hand held tablet pc.

Does msaccess have a special version for tablets and will a program done in 2002 convert safely?

any comments/directions/links appreciated.

I can't give you 100% assurance that this is true, but from all of the things I've seen and heard, a Tablet PC, using Windows XP Tablet OS should act the same as a normal laptop. The only difference in the OS is enhanced abilities to enable handwriting on the screen with a special stylus. The rest of the machine should handle and act just like a normal laptop and the programs that run on one (and most of them are just like a desktop).

Thanks BL, that was what I was hoping to hear!!

Access to PDA

Same question:

Is there a way to run a front end on a PDA, and have it update the backend when it synchs at a later time?

There is a product that runs on PDA's that run the Palm OS. It's called SmartList-to-go by Dataviz. We just saw it demo'd at last month's Connecticut Access User's Group meeting. Here's a link:

They also talked to the group in Oct or Nov about their other products.
