Access 2002 with Windows XP: Error Msg "There isn't enough disk space memory"

I am currently using Access Version 2002 and when I synch databases, I get an error message "There isn't enough disk spcae memory". I have closed all other applications. I have also gone into the registry and increased the MaxLocksPerFIle value to 200000 with no change. Any suggestions? Thank you!

What is the size of your database(s), if either is getting close to 2GB, then it may need compacting. If size is not the issue then I'd suggest looking at your sych'ing method and see if it can be broken down into smaller steps.

I presume your disk is not full?

David, my total program on the main database is only 45MB. I did compact it anyway but it still does not synch.

CJ London, the hard drive is 50% used. There should be plenty of space on the hard drive disk.

Just to add more info, we have a main database that has two replica's that we synch about once a week. For some reason, this error message has come up and now it will not allow me to browse the database and choose the replica for synching. I'm at a loss. I have tried many searches and the only thing that comes up is the MaxLocksPerFile value, which I have increased.

Still at a loss!
Thanks, Cara

I have seen this before and unfortunately cannot remember the fix.

I would however try a decompile, compile and finally compact and repair.

perhaps try increasing maxlocks even further - I seem to recall a similar problem many years ago and kept increasing maxlocksperfile until it solved the problem

Re: Access 2002 with Windows XP: Error Msg "There isn't enough disk space memory"

i have found this message to be sometimes/often indicxative of a corruption.

what do you mean by "synch" databases?

Re: Access 2002 with Windows XP: Error Msg "There isn't enough disk space memory"

Dave, we have two replica databases that are used on different computers. We "synchronize" them weekly. The objects that are set as replicated are then synched. Only recently has it become a problem. I can synch once and then the option is not available anymore.
