Hi,

This is my first post on this forum. I've been reading it, since I discovered it. Thank you all for the work that you do here!

I've been using Access 2007 for a couple of years, but did not discover the Create E-mail/Manage Replies features on the Collect Data tab until yesterday. I did some research and tested this feature a bit and it seems solid. I just have a few questions.

1. I've developed an Access 2007 database and have it on a network share. Since some of the users are off site and not connected to the network, would this feature be a way of allowing them to update the database? I could send out the email and they could fill in the information, instead of emailing me spreadsheets to import? Is this scenario a good use of this feature in your opinion?

2. Would this feature work with a multi-table query? And is there any way to make it more of a query view, so that each record isn't an individual form. That seems like it would be long if there were hundreds of records.

3. Does the database have to be closed immediately in order for the email to process? I've tried closing it immediately after I've finished the Create E-mail, and it still doesn't process. The only time it works is when I input the email address from outlook instead of from the database, and close the database before sending. However, this only works when I want to add new information.

If anyone could lend me some insight on any of these questions, I'd be most appreciative.

Thank you!

I am using this feature in a similar way.

Note, you will have much better results if all involved have INFOPATH installed.

The database will update while it is open.

I have only had luck updating single tables. I have read multi table does work, but indexes and relationships seem finicky at best. (They seem to work for entering new entries, but not for updating existing records.

I currently use it with several non technical people, and while it has been a challenge, it is now working as I had hoped.

Good Luck
