Access 2010 linked to Sharepoint 2010

I have Access 2010 tables linked to Sharepoint 2010 lists and my table becomes disconnected when I run a delete query on the table in Access.

I can append the table and Sharepoint stays connected.

Can I do an append that deletes the previous contents of the table?

I am experiencing the same issues.
I'm linked with Access 2010 to SharePoint 2007 lists.
After opening a form and moving to another, all tables say disconnected. However, I can click to open a table and after 10-20 seconds the table(list) opens, but still states its disconnected.
This will be a multi user with high volume of reading of the data.
Thoughts on a fix?
