I have a runtime application that is written in Access 97, this application has been working extremely well with all the operating systems untill recently in Vista. I know get a error message everytime the SendKey code is envoked the error reads

" The SendKey action requires the Utility Add-In to be loaded" " Rerun Microsoft Access or Microsoft Office Setup to reinstall and the Utility Add-In"

Can anyone help with a fix and what Utility Add-In is it referring to?

Thanks I found this Article but it doesn't explain the problem. The code I have works and has worked for many years in all other versions of Windows and Office so I can't see why it should not work when loaded on to Windows Vista.

I had problems with SendKeys in Access 2003 when run on Vista Home Basic.

If you search on Google you will see the problem is wide spread. I chose to dump SendKeys and did what I needed another way.

I was using SendKeys for three things. One was to have combos to drop down. Another was to put the cursor at the end of a memo field when the form was opened. The other was to put the contents of a newly added Many record memo field into a memo field on a single record (One to One) so that each record also had all the data in one memo field. In that case SendKeys was being used in conjunction with copy/paste for the position of the cursor.

I had been using these SendKeys on Access 95 and Win 95, Win 98, XP Home and Pro but Vista was a "no go"

other threads here have said that A97 is not compastible with Vista

indication is you need later versions eg A2003/A2007 - not sure about A2000, A2002
