I have just been offered the access97 developers handbook for $30 Kiwi.

At the moment I am using MSA2K at work and at home.

My question is, is it worth getting and reading this book?
Thoughts please.

In my opinion you are better getting the A2002 one (or 2003 if there is one yet).

Access has had loads of new features since A97 that you'll miss out on a lot of functiality and ideas.

All the code related to tables/queries etc. in the book will be in DAO too while A2000 and A2002 have ADO.

I have A2000 developer's handbook and it comes in two volumes. The A97 one, if I remember, has only one volume. That says it all really.

I'd have thought that was a bit on the dear side, have you looked at Amazon, sometimes they offer secondhand books, see what they would charge. Are there any particular areas of access you want to explore further? If there is, then there may be a particular book that best covers it, and maybe somebody on this site would be able to recommend a particular book.

I've got a copy here, you can have it, just pop round and pick it up :D

get a motorcycle courier to deliver it Rich - buyer pays for courier. . . . . . I'll do it ;)

It works out at about £10.46, and if I get some new tricks out of it I think it would be worth it.

hmmmmmm

Ha, I see now, I was thinking in American dollars would've been about £20.00 which would have been too much I would've thought, but 310.00 seems reasonable!
