I have an MS-SQL backend which i use for my data source. I then use Access for reporting services. (It works so much better than SQL Reporting Services 2005).

this seems simple, but i can't get it to work. Everytime the users start up access, It pops up a login and password for the ODBC link. Even when i have the password and login setup in the ODBC DSN, it still requests it everytime you start connecting to the datasource.

Is there anyway to somehow hard code this into the Access front end somehow so i don't have to give the password to the users?

When you initially link your tables there is a "Save Password" checkbox on the bottom right of the form that come up when you select which tables you want to link and if checked it should save the password.

I wonder if because i'm only allowing it to use 2003 version i dont get that.

when I create a new link to a table, I only get the following options

"Use trusted Connection"
Password
"Change password" (with new pasword and confirm password)
Database
Language
Application name
Worstation ID:

I dont get "remember password"

How are you creating your links to your tables?

I am talking about if you go to File > Get External Data > Link Tables and then you select ODBC connection from the list and once you have selected the ODBC connection, it gives you a list of tables. It is at that point where the checkbox should appear:

there it is!

Anyway to reactivate it without needing to remove the table links and re-adding them

I've got about 150 linked tables on my file
