hi,
can anyone help me i am trying to find a very competitive person, company who can deisgn my companies database for me.
i will behonest i have tried myslef and got stuck, therefore resorting to asking for help for someone to do it for me. lol

it will be a basic database,
all i need is the following:
Customer information.
Accounts(to keep track of payments etc)
orders
deliveries
expenses.
service records

and if possible be able to print off all worksheets etc from the database instead of having them stored elsewhere.

Have you looked at the Northwind sample that ships with Access... there's enough there to get you started

Indeed. Not so long ago, I was in a similar situation to you, emandjam (viz. I believed my Access skills weren't up to creating the kind of databases I wanted), but what I found the most beneficial - as well as being a member of these fine forums, of course - was to get hold of databases that other people had done, either the Microsoft examples or ones that are available both here and on the 'net at large, and to take them apart in Access to see how they worked. By modifying sections of databases written by others I learnt enough to be able to code them myself.

You'll get a lot more benefit from taking apart examples to learn how they work and then doing it yourself, than you will from getting somebody to do it for you then having to come back for help if something goes wrong.

Help

Thankyou for your advice, i am currently doing that and it working well. (at the moment, before i speak to soon) lol.

Only time will tell.
thanks again.
emma:) :)

depends upon where you are - i have seen a Bloke in the States who is semi retired and he sets out his fee's based on object costs rather then time costs so if you want 3 tables and 4 forms the cost would be $25 x 4 plus whatever his fees are for form design - however this man - does things at his pace so if this is a fast requirement need to shop around

most of what you need will be on this site , with some serious benefits as most the Gurus here seem to be able to gleam what your after from the miost trival info given

Half the fun is learning-
