We are going to trial selling MS Access leads. They will be sold on a per lead basis. We are considering between $5 and $20 per lead or on an auction basis.

If you are interested, please reply to this thread.

Where, geographically, do your leads come from?

Did you see my response/idea in the original thread?

I purposed that developers just pay a flat annual fee and a prospective client can look at a bio/web page of what each developer has to offer and they can contact the developer themselves - or they can post their project info and leave it open for all developers to bid on.

I would definitly be interested in that. I've done quite a few projects like that before.

Err, I thought this was a UK forum, so why dollars not pounds? If it’s because it’s an international site then I think we should have the international date format 2004 03 13. I have mentioned that before, and was ignored then (I think Mile O laughed). This is obviously a personal ambition of mine to see the international date format used, So I won’t be surprised if I’m ignored again. (And If it makes Milo laugh again this hasn’t been a complete waste of time has it)

As for leads, it’s a valid point others have made, will they be UK or U.S. I don’t suppose that’s a fair question because you won’t know yet will you!

The leads would be from all over the world, but predominantely the US (70%) and the UK (20%).

I'm sorry but I don't have time to laugh. It's on my to do list though, and I shall reliably keep you informed of any laughter from myself in the near future should any laughter arise.

I give up

Christ, Not you as well!!! I'll have to give up on my crusade...

Now what else bugs me? I'll have a think.

Sign me up Jon. I think your lower price range is more appropriate though since the same lead would be sold potentially to hundereds of people. This might also upset the customer if he is bombarded with hundreds of contacts. I don't like the idea of an auction and would not participate if that is the final solution.

Jon, I would be interested as well. But like stated before, there needs to be some way that the customer doesn't get multiple contacts from the people in this forum.

Jon, I am interested. An auction make sense, especially if there are geographical considerations. Count me in for the auction.

Hmmm ... sounds interesting. Auction, though ... I'm with Pat. I think it should be up to the customer to decide from a pool of potentials and a 5% finders fee paid to the site. This is a standard that I have worked with before.
