Hello everyone

I was wroking on my project for school for past few days and it is almost finished. (it misses one forom).

But I was stupid enough to start testing of editing options of my database before it was finished and blocked almost everything...can't even access Access options screen I used to do this.

Is there any way how to unblock it again? I would redo the entire database but I don't have time for that :S

Thank you

Could you tell us exactly what you did eg. Altered start up options etc..

I've been pretty much playing around...didn't know that I will block even that Access Options thing...

Anyway:
Changed Display Form to what I want to have on startup
Unchecked Status Display Bar
Unchecked Display Document Tabs
Unchecked Layout view
Unchecked Enable Design Changes....
Unchecked Display Navigation Panel

and

Unchecked Allow Full Menus
Unchecked Allow Default Shortcut Menus

these two are biggest problems I guess...because they block the menu I need to use to check all those others :(...

so why dont you just check it all. or are you trying to say is that you cannot open you access program in design mode? if that is so,you can just press shift+enter. then check what needs to be check in your options.

Oooooh didn't know about the shif+enter.

Thank you! :)

PS. you are suppose to do the shift+enter by:

1. click the icon of your access program then
2. press shift+enter

this should open you acess in design mode of your access.

Also hold shift down while access is starting up this will bypass startup features if you cannot see the database window goto Window>Unhide and you should see it there. Alter your startup options as usual and always make a backup of your mdb before taking and measures to secure it...

good luck John :)

PS. If your still struggling see this thread http://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=168365 I uploaded a little app that might help.

Thanks... this solved my problem too.

Great little utility there.
