Access Permissions

I am working with a database that only those of a certain user group can access. The tables have administrator permissions so that the users cannot alter the data. From Access, I am automating Excel to connect to the external data within the Access database to create pivot tables, reports and charts. However, Excel cannot connect to a database that has administrator permissions. To get around this, I want to copy the tables from the original database to a new instance of Access to get back the default permissions. However, the user group connection gives all new instances of Access administrator permissions. Is there any way to specify default permissions (no administrator permissions) to a new instance of Access even if the user is connected to a user group?

Thanks,
Karla

That's interesting that excel is giving you problems because of admin permissions. To my knowlegde, admin is the default permission for all new database objects. Sorry I can't help much, but maybe that will give you something else to look into.
