Hi, hope someone is clearer in their mind than I currently am about security levels.

I have just started into using Access 2003 nd built up a little data base which contains potentially delicate information about people's medical followup by a carer's group. Briefly, at this stage, I have a database, a quey form and 3 forms.

I have used the wizard to setup my group and members and I believed that I had set the level of access to the relevent forms per User Group Permissions.

My problem is that although I have set different passwords all 3 forms are availabe to all levels of users - or so I believe.

Is there just one little thing I have missed that someone might be able to put me ight on? Been at it long enough on my own already and it has beaten me.

You can set Workgroup security on a database and prevent certain users from seeing specific data, but the process is a lot more involved than you described.

Search this forum for "Workgroup Security" (which is still available in Ac2K3) and "Securing a Database" - you will find lots of articles.

Among other possible problems that might be contributing to this is whether you force folks to use other than the standard workgroup file.

To The_Doc_Man,

So right you are. Thanks for the tracks you led me down. It is a little more complex than I described but, nonetheless, now that I have a better understanding of "how the clock ticks" from the many aricles availabe I can "confidently" get nearer my original objective.

Thanks you once again for your help.
