Hi.

Will a database created in Win Xp using Access 2003 work on machine running Win 2000 Pro and Access 2000?

Thanx

Depends, but there is a chance it will not. I don't know all of the .DLL version updates that occurred between Ac2K and AcXP, but your references would be affected pretty strongly.

It is POSSIBLE that you could save the AcXP version of the .MDB to a lower version of Access IF you included that option when you installed Office or Access XP. Saving "down-version" is an option that I don't recall to be part of the "default" or "standard" installation process. You had to have performed a "custom" install to get it. The good news is that Office allows a "custom" RE-install that lets you add features you didn't previously select. But you need the installation kit for Office or Access to do that.

Thanks Doc.

So if I install access 2003 on a machine that has windows 2000, then i won't have any problems? Currently i'm using windows xp and access 2003, but i want to be able to run this db on a machine that has windows 2000 and access 2003. Will the references be effected in this case?
Thank you in advance.

Access 2003 will work on a Microsoft Windows® 2000 with Service Pack 3 (SP3), Windows XP, or later. I would bet that references will be an issue. Stay away from AcitveX stuff.
