Amazon.com are now adding wiki's to their site so that people can add comments about books and other detail.

How about doing this on this site somehow? Any ideas on what might be useful?

I am not just talking about the forums but more about the rest of the site.

What's wiki? Can somebody explain?

Think Wikipedia: an editable resource.

I would like to revisit this topic. Do you think it would be useful to have a Microsoft Wiki on this site, built over time by the users?

I'm thinking it might be a useful reference that people can link to in posts etc.

Yes. As an additional thought The Access Web appears to be "quiet". Last update listed on the homepage is April 26, 2011. I don't know what the authors have in mind for the future, but the information on this site would seem to be an excellent model that could be used to jump start a wiki on this forum.

Many persons responding to questions on this forum, refer the person asking the question to this website for an answer. In particular this entry "Refer to Form and Subform properties and controls."

No point in reinventing the wheel for content that has already been created, just need to link to it. (Pointers to other resources such as Allen Browne's tips for Microsoft Access?????)

(Of course before doing anything, the owners of "The Access Web" would need to be contacted.)

[Edit: Admin removed excessive links (3 to one site and 1 to another site) since it appears like self promotion.]

My intention is to build this site into the #1 resource for Access, rather than help promote competing sites. Consequently, I like the idea of creating our own Wiki here, that's if others would find such a resource useful.

This would be preferable over the code repository group where the posts get locked thus typos can not be fixed.

The CiviCRM documentation is in Wiki format which works very well that readers can make corrections as needed.
