I have 3 combo boxes, LastName, FirstName, MiddleName. Customer wants to be able to select lastname, firstname, then middlename(Optional) how do I populate tblrequesterdetails with all three names. I have used notinlist event with one combo box but haven't used it in this situation. Customer didn't want the names combined.
Thanks for any help.

Why the use of ComboBox for Names? They are not unique. What is that you are trying to do?

They will select the name and then enter new activity. The names are contained in tblrequesterdetails. The activity is in tblrecordlog. I have a unique id for the requester. I had it set up where they could enter Firstname Lastname. and the unique id would populate in the tblrecordlog. How would you handle it? The customer has requested selecting first name and lastname. They may not be worried about duplicates.

I am not sure why you want to select each part of the name seperately.

I would keep it really simple and have a combo box on the form which returns the id of the person. Display the surname, forename, middle name in the combo box in that order but as one column as most people will identify someone by their surname. Order the query upon which the combo box is based by surname and forename.

That is what I like but the customer wants that last name first name middle name.

It will take the user much longer to have to select all three when there are only
a relatively small number of combinations.

Do you plan to requery the forename listbox when the surname has been selected and also requery the middle name listbox when the forename has been selected?

Yes I have that working fine. It's just when it is not found I haven't figured out the best way to handle it.
