Adding Text to Textboxes

I am desparately trying to put the finishing touches on a report and hate the way my text boxes don't "flow" well with the rest of the text which remains the same. This may seem like a silly question, but I thought it would be very simple to add text as follows:
="my text"&[field name]
What am I missing??

I don't think you are missing anything!

If the Control Source for that field is set to:

="my text"&[field name]

you should get the following displayed:

"my text my data"

with no spaces etc.

However, you may find that you need to do this in an unbound text box - rather than in your automatically created text box, which probably shares the same name as the field (so if your field from your table is called "Sales" so is your text box called "Sales" - in fact it should be renamed as "txtSales").

One last little thing - put a space after the end of your text eg:

="my text "&[my field]

Thanks! It must have been the naming of my text boxes that was tripping me up. Works like a charm now.

Do you know anything about taking a number and writing it in words? Similar to a cheque writing code, I suppose, but I wondered whether I could cut and paste one from somewhere?
