hi all,

apologise if i am posting in the wrong place. I am creating a sort of small scale CRM. i want to add an address lookup function that is connected with the internet which will help avoid errors when inputting an address. the user would basically input the postcode and a dropdown box will be populated with all the addresses in that postcode. once selected in the dropdown the correct fields will then be populated like flat number, town, house name, etc. if you can't explain then could you please direct me to where i could find the correct info.

thanks

Most postal code - address coordinates, city, Prov/State, lat/long reference tables are maintained by the Country's Post Office Department. These are often available for purchase or for an ongoing maintenance contract for a given period of time for a set price.

You may wish to contact the Post Office Department - CanadaPost/US PostalService/... to see what information is available to you at what cost.

If you have more info on your source of address information available based on postal code, perhaps you could describe same.

Hello and welcome to the forum

Where to find this information will vary by country. In Canada you can't get this information for free online, for instance.

Thank you for the replies.

In the UK we can go to the royal mail postal service website for address searches or sites like 192.com which hole home and business addresses alike, both of which are free. Is there no way I can tap into this.
