I have the strangest error.

I have used a OLE Bound Object, so I could create a link to some .PDF files. Everything works great, and I was ready to roll it out to the users (boy will they be excited), when I noticed a silly error I could not get rid of.

After closing the .PDF file (which opened correctly) I get an error that reads:

---------------------------------------------

The operationon on the Acrobat Document object failed.

The OLE server may not be registered

To Register the OLE server, reinstall it.
---------------------------------------------

I have searched the internet, this message board and the Microsoft website, and have come up with little. I believe it might be a .dll error, but the only thing close I could find regarded MS Access 95/98. This is an MS Access 200 DB. I get the error on both a Microsoft 2000 machine AND a Microsoft XP machine.

I tried to use "On Error Resume Next" but to no luck.

If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate the help/suggestions.

Thank you,

TJ Bernard

Not sure, but this could be a reference problem. Check your references to the Adobe reader. Then be sure that it is Active-X registered, which is on the Tools menu bar of a Module window.

If that ain't it, you've got me stumped.

Thank you for your help.

I have searched the internet and tried a few different things.

I went to my Control Panel and Repaired my Office 2003 (which required me to restart my machine). I also ran the "Detect and Repair" option under the Adobe Acrobat Reader "Help" menu.

I then disabled my anti-virus, and after all this no luck.

I could not find the References for the Adobe reader. Under my Tools Option, the only choices I have is "Basic", "Zoom", and "Object Data".

Thank you for your help. If you could point me to where I am missing out on the Adobe References, I might be able to fix this strange error.

I will keep searching and see if I find anything.

Thank you,

T.J.

1. This forum's SEARCH command works well. Read up on references. You can also look up Adobe to see if anything is there.

2. The short answer is that "Tools" doesn't show references anywhere except from a code (module) window.

I did Search this forum before posting. I wanted to make sure to not add anything new. There was little regarding this error, and nothing specific to Adobe that was answered in the past.

I have also searched the internet (via Google) and on the Microsoft site. Anything that was close to a soluation (one had me make sure a .dll was registered correctly) did not fix the strange error.

Thank you for your help, I will keep up the search and hopefully help add something back to the message board.

Has the fix been found? I appreciate any feedback.
