All I needed to know about real life, I learned at the movies... (1 Viewer)

Laptop batteries never run out.

Never shoot the bad guy in cold blood - capture him or strike some kind of truce, then turn your back on him, allowing him to draw a concealed weapon, and thus allowing you (or someone else) to gun him down in self defence.

Masquerading as maintenance crew or emergency services will enable you to stroll past even the most rigorous and diligent of security checkpoints.

Animals, in general, are just like little people with fur or feathers.

Bruce Willis. In a vest.

I think not.

It was some jumped up oversensitive mod wielding their power. They are too scared to PM and say why, they hide behind anonimity thinking they are gods gift.

Bob is the same, he refuses to even enter into private conversation.

If only they knew what cowards they are.

Are you talking about something that happened in this thread?

Animals always have a lot to say. If there were just someway to understand them. Oh wait! There is all you have to do is drink a potion or a magic bean (TV mini series, the Tenth Kingdom).

Perhaps you should become a moderator. You have my vote. It would allow you to see exactly who deletes your posts.

I can't see Colin deleting posts or threads without first letting the person know exactly why! Good thinking Statsman.

Col, why don't you post it again? Take a note of which mods are on line and that'll narrow it down...

Yes, I posted an observation and it was deleted with no notice or warning.
Why would anyone delete a post that was on-topic and not in any way offensive? Are you sure it didn't just fail to hit the board (there's a downtime period around about midday UK time).

That's democracy for you.
This board isn't a democracy. No reason to expect it should be.

I have had posts deleted in the past. On retrospect, they probably deserved to be. No one ever PM'd me or offered any explanation. I don't think this is a requirement (although perhaps it should be).

Being objective, wouldn't you concider this to be inflamatory?

Bob is the same, he refuses to even enter into private conversation.

As your past dealings with Bob have been somewhat explosive, do you really blame him for avoiding you?

You have developed a trait of treating those who disagree with you as either morons who must be corrected or enemies who must be slapped down hard and fast. This is obstructing what are often imformative posts. Perhaps you could work on phrasing your comments in a less combative and confrontational manner. I think you may find that more people will pay attention to you. They may even start removing your from their "Ignore" list.

Just one man's opinion.

Does every thread, even the ones we are just trying to have fun in, have to turn into an argument? Maybe there should be a forum for arguments. That way if you have complaints they can go there, instead of ruining other peoples' fun

I think you'll find that some people think of an argument as a fun activity... You can just ignore them and carry on without comment. That said, back to the thread:

No matter how badly you treat your car, off roading through mud, sand etc, you can be guaranteed that it will remain clean.

Also: car tyres screech when you turn a corner, even on grass, gravel or mud.

Everybody knows how to ride a horse; drive a car; pilot a boat

OK, I am trying to ignore, I will try harder.

When faced with a choice, make the wrong one first. It will still turn out alright in the end, and the right choice will always be available later.

When opened and read, letters talk out loud in a voice that sounds like the person who sent them.
