my allow deletions property of the foem is not working.

Allow Edits works properly and allow Addition is also working where as Allow Deletion is not.

Allow Deletion = No

still it delets both in columnar and tablular forms

Exersize: Turn off Allow Edits and Allow Additions and see what it does...

You turned Allow Edits off but it still lets you do edits?

let me give the situation once more

i have a form in which allow addition is true
allow edits is true.
allow deletion is false

the reason is that i dont want the user to delete any data from the form. when i make allow deletion = false ... it still deletes data fromt he form. thsi is what i want to do. the allow deletion is not working

I understand your problem. I am simply wanting you to test the Allow Edits property to see if it functions as it should when you turn it off and back on.

If it does function properly, then the drill to find your problem may point to an entirely differnt direction of problem solving...

Make sense?

I know I will regret asking, but... what does:

I Love Annabelle the Sheep.

mean, in the context of a db forum?

no possible....
cannot cut down....the amazing thing is that i does inallthe access databases in my PC

Sorry - I got a site violation error... Any screen shots?

ok guys i am back... what i did was taht i uninstalled MS office and reinstalled it again and Walah it is working. my allow edits and my deletion are both in order but again a new problem has accured and that is.

in my tablular form when i make my allow deletion and allow edits to No the form does open any more line to enter data. where as if i make my allow edit to yes and try to delete record it deletes my record and add data. is this a problem with Access or only my Access is suffereing from this lunatic
