I have a form with a subform in it.

Both have Allow Edits set to yes in their properties.

But, when I try to edit the data in the subform, i cant. Wont let me.

I have tried coding Me.AllowEdits = True into the subform but still no sucess.

Any ideas?

Is the subform based on a query that is not updateable?

Is the SubForm based on a query? If so, can you edit the query directly? If not then this link might help.

The subform is based on a query that contains an Order By clause. May this be the problem?

Nope! When you try to change it directly, does it just beep? If so, it is not updateable. Look at the link I supplied.

No sound on my computer so dont know if its beeping.

Had a look at the link but none of it applies.

The query does use data on the form from a combobox which itself is populated by a query. could this cause problems?

If you can *not* change the data directly in the query, it is not updateable. If anything that makes up the query is not updateable, the query will not be updateable. It gets that way because there is an ambiguity in which field in which table to change. Remove elements of the query until it starts alowing changes and you will locate the problem.

If you go to the properties of the form and select the recordsource line then click on the build button to open the underlying query. Now try and change something. Does it let you. Look at the bottom left of the status bar it should say "This recordset is not updateable" or words to that affect.
