Allowing end user to change default values

This may be a bit of a novice question, but here goes...

How would I go about allowing a user to change default values?

I've got a table with a bunch of products and the query/report calculates total purchase price based on individual product prices. The prices will be changing and the goal is to give the end-user the flexibility to change the default prices as needed.

Explain more about your tables... Ideally, you have more than one table here.

Ideally, there would be... but not in this case, I'm afraid. The crucial concept of Access relationships has still eluded me, so I've made due by lumping all fields into the same table for the sake of workaround.

I think you will find that "making do" by lumping everything together in one table is a recipe for disaster in the long term. To really get anywhere with Access you must get to grips with the basic idea of dividing information into tables that are linked through relationships. Without that understanding you might as well use Excel or any other programme that works as a flat file database.

You have taken the trouble to find this excellent site for help ... so do yourself a favour and take the time and trouble to come to terms with the basics (get any decent book on Access or enrol on an introductory course). Quite simply if you stick with one table you are using Access to 0.0001% of its potential, you will create more work for yourself in the long run and you will find Access repetitive, boring and unhelpful!
