I am visiting friends. Their neigbhour just got a pet goat. A dwarf goat playing in their yard.
I thought goat was supposed to be eaten!! Fried, grilled, boiled, roasted. Now here's a source of meat playing in a neigbhours yard for pete's sake  Flaunting and showing off. And the goat is always screaming "meeehhh meeehhh" ing around the yard. Almost like saying..."come get me"

If this goat is cooked for dinner, the tail will be the most delicious. lucky goat.

I can never understand why some people have acquariums either. Goldfish is the only fish i can stand to see in an acquarium cos they are too cute to be eaten. Everything else should belong in a pot!

Wonder if they make for a good lawnmower....

(Ought this be in Watercooler?)

I meant it to be in watercooler, i must've clicked here by mistake. Can someone kindly move it?

There was a newspaper article here recently about a man who bought a miniature horse for his son as a 'household pet' because of his son's allergies to other types of pets. And, a horse is more cuddly and capable of showing affection than, say, a hamster.

Needless to say the neighbors complained citing an ordinance in their neighborhood that deals with owning animals that aren't household pets. Now, this horse is miniature, and is smaller than a large dog such as a Mastiff or a Great Dane. But there has been a big debate about whether he should be allowed to keep it or if it violates the ordinance about household pets.

I guess it depends on the size of it's poop.

That's what I was thinking too, but if it's smaller than a Great Dane then what are you going to say? :D

Oddly enough, in some parts of the world they would feel the same about a dog or a cat. What difference does it make if the animal is cuddly and cute? They are all sources of potential meat.

This post was deleted as I had second thoughts and decided my sick sense of humor was a bit over the top and didn't want to cross the line.

OK, I've done the usual, pig; cow; chicken etc, also:

Goat
dog (not knowingly, but it was ok)
cat (not knowingly, but it was delicious)
elephant - very tender
giraffe - hmm, was ok
Kudu - bit gamey
venison incuding rein deer (which was brilliant - the Swedish really know how)
Mapani worms
snake
