Complete novice here, but why is it that if I set up a form so that one of the fields is equal to the sum of another two fields when I go to the report view the sum box is empty. It doesn't appear to take the sum to the report view even though it is quite clearly in the box in the form view.
Any helpful tips would be appreciative, but please refrain from the sarcasm?

Try putting the formula in a text box in the report.

This is because the sum you have generated is not being stored anywhere, i.e. there is no control scource, you are not linking the textbox to any field in a table, also it is advisable not to store calculated fields in a table. In your report add the the two text boxes and any other fields you require and then add another text box and give it the sum of the two text boxes.
