I am having some trouble with user security. When I initially set up security on a database, it automatically assigned user pin numbers but now when I try to add a new user, it is asking for pin numbers. Is there some way to create pin numbers using the same convention that Access uses? or is there a way to have Access automatically create Pin numbers?

the pin number doesnt matter
its just saved in the mdw file
if you lose/delete the mdw file you wont be able to recreate it without the pin numbers -if you create another one with the same name, it wont work with your dbs's if the pin is wrong
but as nobody ever deletes the mdw files its not so much of an issue - does anyone keep meticulous records of the pin /id numbers? -either store the pin nos, or just make sure you have a back up copy of the dbs and the mdw file somewhere off your machine
