Question attachments

Hi can someone please explain to me how i create an attachment field within a table that will store say documents etc, ive seen in templated that in table design you have the option to select attachment but in office 2010 /07 it appears to be no longer there only the OLE object.

When i try and do it in normal table view and select the attachment iccon from the more field it says operation not supported. any ideas

Or can you only use the attachment data type when creating a web database
 
Storing actual documents and worse pictures inside the database is ill adviced, because they take up a lot of space and fill the 2GB limit fast.

Much more efficient to leave the files on the network and only store a link to the files in a text box.
 
From what I had read, adding documents to a database can cause major bloat and is not really necessary. What I did was get the user to select the documents to attach, copy these to a specific location and store this path against the record.

That way the only thing you are storing is the document path so there's no bloat. If there is more than one attachment per record, you can have this displayed in a subform as a continuous form.
