Hi all,
I've 4 input fields on my form: Balance Number for specific stock, Number Purchased, Number of Stock Used, and the New Balance Number.

I was able to use the expression builder to come up with the simple equation for calculating the New Balance Number by inputing:
[New Balance Number] = [Balance Number] + [Number Purchased] - [Number Used]

Problem:
1. though the calculated result is shown on the form, it wasn't recorded in the New Balance Number Field that I have in the table with all other fields.
2. I've no idea how to update the Balance Number with the New Balance Number value upon closing and erase the values of New Balance Number, Number Purchased and Number Used fields for subsequent visits to the form.

Deeply appreciate any help. Thank you all for your time.

Hey hey,

Does the form have a table set for it's "Record Source"?

You can do this via a macro, VBA code, or query. Just depends on on what you want to do. Take your pick. Have experience with any of the options?

If you want to use a query, you'll have to change the way you are going about entering data in the form.

Hi pple!
Thank you so much for your advice. Frankly speaking, I've no previous experience with Access. I'll try to using the query first. Thank you so much once again!
