Autonumbering a document as it prints.

I have an entry form. I need to print off 300 copies with each one having a unique number. Apart from this they will be exactly the same. Is there I can do this without a hell of a lot of manual work(i.e. creating a 300 page document or changing it and printing it 300 times)?

Link the document to an Access table that has 300 records in it - mailmerge - have a field on the template that displays the Unique number.

I've just created an Excel document with the numbers in and then mailmerged. So I now have a 300 page document.... oh well.
