Hello, I am packaging an inventory program for use on multiple computers across a network.
I have already split my database and before I package I am curious if there is a module or code, or if Access will do this automatically, that handles finding the backend if it is moved. I don't need Access to perform a search I just need something that, for example, pops up and says "Back end not found, please browse to it's location." and the browse window opens and the user can navigate to where it is placed.
Otherwise, it seems to me as I would need to split my db, move the backend onto the server, then relink the tables and package them accordingly. I ask this because it is possible I may end up placing this package on a couple of networks, and instead of repackaging for each network would rather just be able to have the user browse to the back end on start up, or detection that the back end isn't found.
Edit* I am using Access 2007
