Barcode

I'm trying to print a barcode to be used for data input into another system.
The data contains alpha number and some special characters like space, underscore, / and &

I want the form to print the bar code

Any idea cus 128 and 3of9 don't handle this data.

We use a font barcode called ABC39190 , it deals with the underscore and / okay but not the ampersand.
I'm fairly certain that Barcodes by default have a fairly limited character set to avoid misinterpretation. I may be worth looking at the data to see if the other characters can't be stripped out?

I don't do barcodes but from what I've read Extended Code 39 or Code 128 cater for the other ascii characters that the Code 39 doesn't. The former takes up more space whereas the latter requires a checksum:

I have used barcodes with our pat testing equipment and i found that it would not format correctly if there were spaces between words. also check that it has the control characters at start and end of barcode.
