Basic drop down list?

Hi

I am currently creating my first Access database. My expertise is only in Excel so I'm in the process of making the transition.

I have created a datasheet form and all I am attempting to do is create a simple drop down list of values for one of the cells. I'm sure this is ridiculously easy but as a newbie I can't see how it's done.

Also, it seems that the data I enter into a table is feeding the form, not the other way around. Where am I going wrong?

drop a combobox, and follow the wizard.
yes it is feeding the form, also the form is feeding the table (new record).
you can verify it by adding new records, through form.
