Hi All,

I know there are several different ways and editing/viewing excel data through access. I was wondering if anyone has a preference or best practice.

I could use :
DAO
Link the worksheet

etc etc

Basically I want to view and edit the spreadsheet in an access form, rather than the user having to work from excel. I don't really want to link the data because the spreadsheet will change daily.

Any thoughts!

Thanks in Advance

Andy

All you need is to reference to Comctl32.ocx and Microsoft Office Object Library 8.0

Aleb,

Thanks for the sample but I can't view it. Keep on receiving activectl error after a parameter box is asking the value of pole1 field in frmpuctures.

Can you help so that I can view the sample?
My russian isn't that good. I'm afraid.

Cheers

Andy

Did you reference to the libraries ?
Pole1 is nothing but an unbound field with holds the value of a treeview control.
I am posting the list of libraries to reference to just in case and how it looked like on my PC. If the correct referencing will not help let me know what steps are you doing and what happens.

Aleb,

Thanks for the help. I open the db and I am presented with this screen:

parameter.gif

If I click Ok/Cancel or click the close button I receive the same response which is:

ole.gif

Nothing then works because I receive the OLE error as above.
The form then appears :

I have checked the references and they match your references apart from I'm using Microsoft Office 10 Library and not 11 library.
My Refs:

I have also create a blank db and imported the objects and set references and still the same.

Any clues?

Thanks
Andy

Being frank I don't know why it keeps giving you a hard time.
Try to pass the parameters value 3

Values for the pole fields are the values from the ID field in tblspisok

It works absolutely fine for me.
May be gurus from the forum may have an answer.

ALeb,

Thanks for the help. I still can't get the sample to work. I even made sure the links to the files existed on my system, just incase.

I have decided to use an OLE to view/edit the spreadsheet. It would have been nice to view the sample. If anyone has the same problem or solution please post.

Thanks for your time aleb.

Andy
