I have recently change a database over from Office 2003 to 2007. Now when I am in a form with a sub form data sheet I get multiple blanks lines (grayed out) below my new record row and blank columns to the right.

This all worked fine in 2003 how can I correct this in 2007?

may you post a screenshot of what you see? it's hard to know what might be going on just from the description.

also, does your 2003 version work ok in access 2007?

I have attached a screen print and circled the area's I am trying to explain. This has been fine for years in 2003 but i have had this issue since opening (not converted) in 2007.

i noticed this too when using 2003 at work and using 2007 on my personal laptop.

they're not 'blank rows' per se. they're kind of like excel rows and columns - you may not have data there, but they 'fill up' the page. i don't know how you got it to be grey, i can't seem to change the background colour of my datasheet.

i personally prefer seeing the 'filled up' space, the 1995 windows grey fill never did it for me aesthetically in pre-2007.

i don't think you can change it, but i may be wrong. i'd leave it - it's an improvement!

I like this visual grid. Can be modified. see the image

wow, that's great. no wonder i didn't think you could change the design of the datasheet - because these options don't appear to be in design view, only datasheet view!

still, now i know it's possible, there MUST be a way to do it by code...

interesting. very interesting. :)
