Guys I developed a Database a while ago for my brother (with help from you guys!!). He has moved the goal posts slightly........I have had to strip the sample DB RIGHT down for this forum.

Basically for enquiries and orders he selects a customer from a drop down (fields auto populate - this is missing from the sample). He then selects a service type. Here the fields auto-populate. Now he would like to be able to manually over-ride the Price. If he does this it updates the main table so the next order/enquiry takes the amended price?

How can I work around this??

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Phil.

PS: Have to hold the shift key to open database!!!!!!

You need to create a link table and copy the price across. The North Wind Example has an example of this.

In the Attached pic of a relationship window, I copy the Parts Cost to a LINK table. This price can then be updated / changed.

This is also the correct way to do it, otherwise, if the item had a price increase it would be reflected through all previous records.

I think you have a lot of work ahead of you. :(

Ha! Ha!

Going by his early form we will not miss him!! Terrible injury, makes me wince thinking about it!!

Back to my post!!

My Order & Enquiry Forms are both based on queries. They each have sub forms that list the available services. How would I implement a 'Link' as suggested?

I looked at Northwind but couldn't see it??

Would be nice to resolve this one..so all yopu clever people out there HELP!!
Thanks for your time guys,
Phil.

Moving On

I shall close this thread now as I feel it is more a 'Table' issue.
Thanks for the replies.
