Is it possible to set up a button on a form, and have that button open up an external program?

If so, can anyone give me example code?

Specifically, someone asked if a shortcut on the desktop could be launched via a button in an Access form. The reason why is simply to make the users life easier in that it "seems" they are in the same application, as opposed to having to minimize Access and launch from the desktop.

Petit I know, but you know users!

Wayne,

Thanks for your response. It would seem however, that Access will call .EXE and .BAT files OK with the CALL statement, but the file we need to launch is a .SAP (it's shortcuts to a transaction within SAP).

"Invalid Call Procedure or Argument"

Maybe Access doesn't know what to do with .SAP files!

Thanks for trying anyway.

Joe,

What does know how to deal with .SAP files? If it is an
executable and can parse a command line, then you can use
the shell command.

jesusoneez,

Post your Shell call and lets see if you have it set up correctly.
