Buttons/Navigations/control properties

Employee Entry is the Mainform with all the tabbed subforms. So if you go in there and click on the Find Employee button in the OSHA tab, it will error. But if you are on the Skills Inventory tab it will work.

There is no sensitive data in the database, just ratings and training dates. :)

Ok, for starters there's no macro or code behind the button so it's not working at all.

Secondly, your form is not designed properly. The search part of your form should be unbound.

How should I redesign the form?

I thought originally when I set up the "Find" button it was unbound, but I wanted it to search only on the EmployeeID.

I don't have time to advice you how to design the entire form but regarding the Search bit, see attached your db with a section in blue. Enter an employee id and click the search button.

Thank you!! And this will find it even attached to the subforms? So if I want to find an employee in the Skills, all I have to do is find it in that box and it will come up on both forms?

I will work on the design of the form. I tried using a query behind the form but then it would not do any data entry. I'm thinking perhaps changing the OSHA from the yes/no format and do a datasheet in that form with the OSHA, document and training date. I'm thinking that should work better.

As long as the subform is linked to the main form via Employee ID, yes it will.

Thank you so much for your help!! I really appreciate it!!

No problemo!
