I have designed an access application that logs emails that come into a department. However, the team leader has asked me to create a report to work out if emails were answered within a 24 hour period.

Is there a method to do this. It is not something I have attempted to do within access before.

Any suggestions would be fantastic.

Hello ASM2792, to help you better, you need to give us a bit more info. As in how would you identify if they have been answered? Would it be updated with the answered time? If so what are the fields involved>?

Hi pr2-eugin,

Sorry I wrote this out in a slight rush as I was running late for a meeting.

There are two separate fields for received and time replied.I'm unsure how to get access to display a query that will show the amount of hours surpassed if it has not been answered in 24 hours?

Many thanks for your help.

P.S - I did try to upload screen shorts to make this more clear however due to my restrictions on the amount of posts i can not upload just yet.

Say your two fields are dateEmailArr - the Date & Time when the email came through and dateEmailResp - the Date & Time when it was responded, then your Query will be.
Code:
SELECT someFields
FROM yourTableName
WHERE [URL="http://www.techonthenet.com/access/functions/date/datediff.php"]DateDiff[/URL]("h", dateEmailAr, dateEmailRes) <=24;

Thank you pr2_eugin. That worked beautifully. Very much appreciated.

Just a different way of doing the same:
Where dateEmailRes - dateEmailAr <= 1
