calculated control help

Hi, I am new to this forum so be gentle...my knowledge of Access is limited.. I created a small database for my wife's business. 2 of the fields are "sales tax" and "date collected" I created a query with these fields and then a report displaying the query. I would like to know how I can create and display a control that will calculate the total amount of sales tax collected during a date range( the date range is already a parameter in the query).

Can you post the SQL of your query?

I believe just changing to a GROUPED query will help, but seeing the code will help ud to confirm.

To change the query to a GROUPED query, hit the funny looking "E" (the TOTALS button) and change the Totals field to Sum.

You will also need to change the Date Parameter to an WHERE and uncheck the SHOW button.
