Hi there

I have a question. Is there a point where a form can have too many controls (as well as tab controls with more forms) and Calculations (inc. VB code)??

I have one form that has several controls and calculations and when I tried to create a list box the form died on me as well as Access closing.
The list boxs record source was a query that sum'd a field. One field referenced a fields ID's within one of the forms to filter the recordset.

could it maybe just be this one control? maybe it's calculation is too complex for the form. Or could it be that my database is bloating and has became unstable with, what it regards as, too much stuff.

Luckily I always have a copy incase this sort of thing.

Hope someone can shed light on this.

Thanks for replying to me Ucle Gizmo

I personally thought it'd be the Calculation/expression that I was using and perhaps Access was running into some kind of confliction. I've left that calculation behind as it's not needed anymore.

Ofcourse, the worry of having too much stuff in one form did enter my mind. However, the problem happend before with a calculation which makes me think that's all it was.

As for nested subforms, I usually only go two levels down and opt instead for textlinks to reference my forms when I can. I see advantages and disadvantages in both techniques.

to send you a recreation of the db problem might take too long. Thanks for offering to have a look at it.

Regards
