Dear Access gurus,

I am trying hard to put a continuous form inside a tab control but failed. I know how to create a new form as a continuous (or multiple items) form but simply cannot put a continuous form inside a tab control.

Could someone advise whether continuous form can be placed inside a tab control? Or must a continuous form be created separated?

Thank you.

You create a SubForm and default View Continuous should work.

I'm sure it can.
What exactly is the problem.

I just want to create a datasheet with fields that are not from a table. I am forced to bound a table or query as a source. I would like a excel-like datasheet and each cell can be modified like a textbox. Not sure if Access can do this.

Sorry if this is a stupid question. I am a newbie to forms though not to Access.

It's possible but it would take quite a bit of VBA code.

If you're new to Access I wouldn't recommend it. And I certainly wouldn't recommend trying to replicate an Excel spreadsheet in Access.

What purpose would this 'spreadsheet' serve?

And to clarify a couple of points:
Fields are columns in tables (there's no field without a table)
You're not forced to bind forms to tables or queries. It's quite common not to but it takes coding of some sort to do anything useful with unbound controls.

In Access, only Bound Forms can display more than one Record, so your Form must be Bound. Exactly where do these 'Fields' come from? As VilaRestal said, you really need to explain the purpose of this Form.

When information that is not directly related to the main purpose of the database is needed, I use a utility Table that holds a single Record to store it, and you probably could, too. An example would be a Table holding a corporate name and varied contact information, to be used in the Header of all Reports.
