Hi,
In a report, I need to print a number but twice.
Once a normal number, then in the same page (but in another zone of the page) I need to print the same number but translated in Barcode. I've installed EAN13 font, but when I print I cannot scan it with a barcode-reader. Is there any procedure I can use to create a barcode for the given number in order to be scannable from my barcode reader ?

Thanks
Skerdi

Try this link for some information on barcodes. Not all the info will be relevant for you but some of it - especially the bits about size etc may be useful

Simple Software Solutions

Hi

In your control that sources the field from the underlying report query/table use the following syntax

Recordsource= "*" & [YourFieldName] & "*"

I found that this worked when I was converting a works order number to a barcode.

Cannot confirm it will work on that font but you can nobut try...

We are going to need some more info from you. Are you actually generating a barcode on your report even if you can't read it. If so, then is the barcode large enough to be read.

did you install the font to register it with the system?

Yes, I've installed the EAN font, but my barcode reader doesn't read it. I've tried in word: I typed smth, select all, then I changed the font and after printing this, my barcode reader cannot read it. I need to "translate" a number into a barcode readable from my barcode reader. I don't know if there is smth special except teh EAN font to be done. I've asked here about any code or smth in any module.
Thanks in advance :)
P.S. My barcode reader is working normally with some products that has a barcode attached. It works even with a printed barcode generated by some free softwares that I found in internet.

Can you post a screenshot of the barcode part of your report.

yes, sure. If it helps.
This is the number but in EAN13 font. The real number is in a normal font in the first page.

Thanks for posting. Are you sure you have enough digits in your barcode. It doesn't look quite right to me but I am no expert.

Yes, I'm sure for it. Normally if you see a barcode on a product, it has more lines. But in my case there is a font that is doing this. Even if you try in WORD, you will see some black lines for every key you press on your keyboard.
Thanks anyway ;)
