Can you help me?

I am working on a database for work and I am still learning access. I need to create a query that will make a list of everyone who should be at work that day based on their job code that each person is assigned. Also though I need it to search another field and make sure that person hasn't requested that day off. For example say my job code is abc123 and my regular schedule days off are saturday and sunday I need it to show that if ran on a monday through friday i would be listed and on saturday and sunday i wouldnt unless ive requested a day off.

Without seeing your table structure I doubt anyone is going to be able to help you.

Right - not a lot to work with
but lets start

u need a table of workers with code and days
so
uniqueid= autonumber
Names txt
Code = txt
and now the days
mon,tues etc all as yes/no field
and now holidays
this will have to b 2 dates
from and to
so your table will have at least
12 fields on it (min)
You might want to add Bank hols in
so you qry will run off
date range between x and y and holidays fates and runit that way
you would end up with a raw table with ticks in it


You need to get your stucture right in your tables, your are almost in to the relams of booking hotels rooms systems - which their are samples of
how many rooms avaibale at any 1 given time date range to date range

I recommend that you look at the samples sections and start with appoints/booking reservations- etc

someone has probably already done soemthing similar - you need to hunt it down and either rip the bitss oyu need or amend the sample to fit your needs -- please give credits to the guys on the sample d/bs as they have done this in their own time at their own expense - evne if its a couple of lines in your D/base
