can you update a table in another access database

Hi i was wondering if anyone new how to make a query so that when a user types in e.g. a licence number into an order form, the license number and the customer details could be added to another access database table in the appropriate fields??
I'm pretty new at queries, so i need quite a dummy proof explanation!!
