Cannot select a value from a Combobox

My app includes a Combobox which is bound to a query for a list of values, and it gets a default value from another query. if there is a default value than I can select a value from the drop down list but if there is no default vaqlue than I can see the list of values in the dropdown but canot select any. Please help.
