CanShrinkLines function messing up all layout beneath

Hi guys

I am designing a report where I have an invoice address and site address in the report's page header.
I am using the canShrinkLines function as suggested by microsoft to remove blank lines in the adresses, as there are two addresses side-by-side and so canShrink willm not work

The only problem is, it is pushing everything below it down until it ends up hidden behind the detail area.

There is no reason why it should do this, is there anyway I can 'lock' the layout or fix this problem?

If you look at the two attachements, the file 'how it should look' shows a bar with text under the box with the adresses in it. Notice the addresses are all on one line.

If I change the adresses so they format correctly the bar below vanishes - see 'how it does look'. In fact, it seems to be hidden behind the 'details' section of the page'.

I have tried completely deleting and starting again, changing margins all over the place and nothing works!

It is the expanding address that are the problem - if you look at the 'no addresses' image you can see its all laid out perfectly.

I really hope someone eolse has had thsi problem and there is an easy fix!

Please help me everyone!

many thanks in advance,

It has nothing to do with CanShrinkLines but what you do with its output. If you output it into a container that you decided to allow to grow, then it will grow.

*smacks forehead*

DUH!

Of course, what a fool I am! I put it down to the stinking headcold I have today... many thanks!
