I have a form subform. The subform is based on a query so I can add fields from another table. When I have the query configured with the second table I cannot add new records to the subform. If I take this table out of the underlying query I can add new records.

I've tried every join type with no luck. I'm a little rusty with Access and can't figure this out.

Any ideas?

Most likely you will need another subform for the other table.

I guess I don't follow.

I've tried adding another form based on the second table to both the main form and the subform and I still can't add a record to the original subform.

Could you elaborate?

Without seeing your database, I can't really because I would need to see how it is all put together (including the forms) to see where you might have something set incorrectly.

Be sure your query isn't Distinct, Access property Unique Rows.
If your query has unique rows selected it can't be used in a form to update.
