Can't Compact and Repair!

When trying to Compact and Repair my application, a warning message appears as shown:

Table 'TempMSysAccessObjects' already exists.

It exits without compacting or repairing. How can I fix this problem?

Hooi:

Try the old standby. Create a new db and import all of your objects and data from the old to the new. Then try to compact the new db. Gotta love Access sometimes.

I've thought of the old standby method, but that was what I was trying to avoid.

Compact and Repair was fine when I opened the database exclusively, but when I open it in sharing mode, the problem remained the same. So I tried many times, eventually it just healed by itself as if it has a life of its own . So I immediately did backup 2 times; just in case. Phew!
