Hi,

I have written a simple market analysus database but whenever I try to create a report (I have no problems with forms or tables) I receive the error "you entered an expression that has an invalid reference to the property". Also, I can not view any existing reports in other databases, view reports in design mode or generate reports using the wizard.

Help

Did you figure this out? I am having a similiar problem on some of my computers - Is there another application that may be interfering or a reference not properly set?

Sorted

Hello guys

Having just had this problem with Access I may have found a reason for this.
This may not be universal but it worked for me.

It has to do with the printer settings, specifically the permissions.
In order to solve this certain permissions for the printer need to be enabled so that everyone can use them.

Open Printer properties.
Go to the security tab.
Select the group of users you belong to.
Manage Printers & Manage Documents needed to be ticked as allow.

Hey presto I can create, print & preview reports again.

James (A2K3, WinXP)

I presume this has to do with Access' security settings conficting with the printer settings in Windows. If anyone has more info on this please feel free to let me know as I thought I might have to start the database all over again. Very nearly went back to A2K.

Thanks for the reply - we did figure out with some help. The issue was with the printer setup. A new network printer was installed and the endusers didn't "install" the new printer, the mapping was the same as the old and the users were still able to print. By deleting and reinstalling the printer the problem was resolved.
