I'm getting an error eveytime I want to delete a linked table in ms2007.
Message: (isn't a valid name. Make sure that this does not include invalid characters and puctuation and that is not too long.) I renamed the table as delete, still no luck. Anyone know why this is happening?

My front end is 2007 back end 2003 does this have anything to do with it?

How are you trying to delete them?

Click on the table and press delete key.

I'll rephrase that click on the linked table and press delete

Your frontend might be suffering from some corruption. Try importing everything into a brand new access database shell and see if that helps.

Just wondering. Are you trying to delete the table or the link?

Have you tried linking to it and then deleting? Rename it to something else, not "Delete". Also, don't use spaces or hyphen (-)

Could be corruption as SOS said. But does it allow link to tables? Can you actually make a copy of the table, link to that and try deleting the link?

I can make a copy but no luck deleting the copy. I can link to a different db and delete the link.

That was interesting to know. You've got your answer in #5 from SOS.

I recreated the front end and the same is happening I am confused

I fixed it by not importing the linked tables when migrating to 2007 and linking afterwards all is normal now. Must be a bug in msaccess. Thanks for your time!
